BRUEL &
KJAER BROADENS SCOPE OF
ACCELEROMETER PRODUCT RANGE
Bruel &
Kjaer has broadened its vibration sensors product range by adding
more than 50 new types of products including various accelerometers,
force transducers and hammers.
The new product
expansion reflects Bruel & Kjaers renewed commitment
to offer the most comprehensive line of high-performance, high-quality,
economical, rugged and lightweight uniaxial and triaxial sensors
for almost any application. The company also supplies a wide
variety of quality connectors, cables and mounting options that
ensure optimum measurement integrity, ease of set-up and data
reliability.
The product range expansion has been developed to meet the companys
growing customer demands for precision instrumentation. Bruel
& Kjaer has increased its focus on product development, testing
and quality to provide customer-dedicated solutions as well as
a high level of pre- and after-sales support.
To support
the new product developments Bruel & Kjaer has invested in
new production facilities in Denmark. The new manufacturing
capability enables the company to react faster to market and
customer demands for precision instrumentation and also gives
the opportunity to perform exacting tests on new designs to fully
optimise product quality.
Bruel &
Kjaer has also strengthened its dedicated team of in-house engineering
staff to support its continuous development of new accelerometers
and sensors. Building on the many years of Bruel & Kjaer
experience and knowledge the increased in-house engineering department
adds capacity not only to improve existing accelerometers, but
also to develop new versions and make customer-specific variants
of existing designs.
Two of the
first products to emerge from the new accelerometer development
programme are the Miniature Triaxial DeltaTron® Accelerometer
Type 4524, which is ideal for automotive applications, and the
DeltaTron Accelerometer Type 4511 developed to address aerospace
requirements.
The Miniature
Triaxial DeltaTron® Accelerometer Type 4524 a new lightweight,
triaxial, piezoelectric, OrthoShear® accelerometer addresses
the needs of the automotive industry and is suitable for: structural
analysis measurements; multichannel modal analysis measurements
as well as modal measurements for automotive body and power-train
applications.
Ideal for use
by civil and military helicopter manufacturers, the Piezoelectric
DeltaTron® Accelerometer Type 4511 is flight-test certified.
All the Type 4511 processes and materials comply with MIL-STD-11268.
The devices primary design objective has been reliability
under extreme conditions, yielding very high robustness versus
mechanical, electrical and environmental influences.
Applications
include: flight test; measurement in harsh environments; health
usage monitoring systems (HUMS) and gearboxes.
Both the Type
4524 and Type 4511 accelerometers were developed using the numerical
modelling technique FEM (Finite Element Modelling). Each accelerometer
is individually calibrated and supplied with a comprehensive
calibration chart, using state-of-the-art, random FFT technology,
providing an 800-point, high-resolution calibration (magnitude
and phase), ultimately giving a unique characterisation and securing
the integrity of the vibration measurement.
